Classic Cheese Fondue -

Oooh Cheese fondue! I can’t think of anything better!! Serve with slices of baguette for dipping.

  • 200 Grams Gruyere Cheese, cut into cubes
  • 150 Grams Jarlsberg or Cheddar, cut into cubes
  • 1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 1 Cup White Wine
  • 3 Sprigs Fresh Thyme (Optional)
  • 1 Bay Leaf (Optional)
  • ¼ Tsp. Pepper
  • Fondue Dippers of choice


  1. In a saucepan over medium heat combine the wine with the thyme, bay leaf and pepper. Heat until it comes to a gentle boil. Remove bay leaf.
  2. In the meantime, in a large microwave safe bowl coat the cheese cubes with the cornstarch and toss lightly with your fingers.
  3. Pour the heated wine mixture over the cheese cubes and toss with a large spoon. The cheese should begin melting. Place the bowl in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes, mixing well every 30 seconds until your cheese is completely melted through.
  4. Serve immediately with dippers of your choice – if you have a fondue pot with a flame, pour the cheese mixture into this pot and keep a low flame. This will keep your cheese hot and melty longer.
