Vegan BBQ Sliders -

How absolutely adorable are these? Note that in this recipe I pre-cook the sliders in the oven for a bit before grilling. This is to allow the sliders to cook all the way through, and to avoid breaking when placing on the grill. It is also important to allow them to cool completely before attempting to grill, otherwise they will fall apart (only needs about 20 minutes on your counter)! You can make them a couple of days before if you like and refrigerate. This recipe will give you about 20 sliders.

Ingredients

  • 300 Grams Ground TVP
  • 1 Small Onion, minced
  • 1/3 Cup Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • 1 Clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 Tsp. Ground Cumin
  • 1 Tsp. salt
  • 1/4 Cup Ground Flax Seeds
  • 1/3 Cup Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. Tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp. Vegetable oil

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F (175 C).
  2. Combine all ingredients and mix well to combine with your hands. Form about 20 small pucks from the mixture (each about the size of your palm) and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake for about 20 minutes at 350, flipping once halfway through baking. Allow to cool completely before placing on bbq (about 20 minutes on the counter or in the fridge overnight).
  4. Turn on the barbecue to medium high flame and place the sliders directly on a well oiled grill for about 2 minutes per side. Serve in mini buns with all the fixings!
